New Haven Moms (newhavenctmoms.com) is a free guide to events, places and resources for families in New Haven, Connecticut. We keep things simple: this site has no accounts, no advertising trackers and no cookies. We count visits anonymously so we know what's useful. This policy explains the little information that does change hands when you use the site or get in touch.
Information we collect
We don't collect personal information through the website itself. You can browse the calendar, things to do and resources without telling us who you are, and the site doesn't set cookies.
To see how many people use the site, we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly visit counter. It records which pages are viewed, the website that sent you here (like Instagram), your general location (country and region) and your browser and screen size. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't follow you to other websites, and doesn't collect your name or anything that identifies you personally.
The site remembers whether you chose English or Spanish. That choice is saved only in your own browser, on your device, and is never sent to us.
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. That includes event tips, sponsorship inquiries and general messages.
How we use it
- To reply to you.
- To add events you tell us about to the calendar. We publish event details like the name, place, time, ages, price and the organizer's public link. We don't publish your personal email address or contact details unless you ask us to list them as the event's contact.
- To talk with businesses and organizations about sponsorship.
We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Services we rely on
A few outside services help run the site, and they may receive basic technical information such as your IP address when your browser connects to them:
- GitHub Pages hosts the site. GitHub may keep server logs, including visitor IP addresses, for security. See the GitHub privacy statement.
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, so your browser requests them from Google. See Google's privacy policy.
- GoatCounter counts visits anonymously, as described above. See GoatCounter's privacy policy.
- Gmail handles email sent to newhavenmoms@gmail.com.
The site also links to other websites, such as Instagram, Google Maps, Google Calendar, event organizers and community resources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Children's privacy
This site is written for parents and caregivers. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep emails only as long as they're useful for replying, updating the calendar or an ongoing sponsorship conversation. To ask what we have from you, or to have it deleted, email newhavenmoms@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
If we add something new, like a newsletter sign-up, we'll update this policy first and change the date at the top.
